Hill.com is building the operating system to power the private markets. Founded by Andrew Benson, Hill is a marketplace for retail investors to trade pre-IPO companies. Hill is backed by HF0 and advised by the former president of Charles Schwab and Fidelity. Prior to Hill, Andrew founded River.com, a Bitcoin financial services company managing $3B in assets and backed by top venture capital firms (M13, Polychain, Craft Ventures, Slow Ventures, and Peter Thiel).

Hill is on a mission to bring the private markets to every household by 2030. We are starting with the ability to trade pre-IPO companies such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and more. The current state of pre-IPO stock trading is that transactions often take 60 days to close. We bring this down to 60 seconds.

We are forming a small team of highly talented individuals to achieve our ambitious mission.

## The role

**What you'll build**

- **Core investing infrastructure.** Event-based systems handling order matching, settlement, and reconciliation using CQRS patterns
- **Financial ledgers.** Hill's core accounting system that track billions in assets with perfect accuracy
- **API build-out.** Design and build APIs used by enterprise partners with a strong focus on scalability and Developer Experience

**About you**

- You can own the execution of critical financial systems from conception through to production
- You know how to build systems that handle complex legal and regulatory requirements
- You ship code daily. We are builders
- Rust is your primary tool and you have strong opinions about how best it should be used
- You've implemented CQRS/event sourcing in production
- You can design APIs that scale to enterprise customers and hold strong opinions on DX
- You code 80%+ of your time and want to keep it that way
- You understand that legal compliance is a feature
- You're familiar with our tech stack (Rust, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform) and aren't afraid to work across the stack
